Exalogic Virtual: Unable To Create/Start vServers Due To Incorrect Associations Between Server And Switch Objects In EMOC (Doc ID 2025315.1)

Symptoms

You have an Exalogic rack deployed in a virtual configuration and are creating a new guest vServer using the "Create vServer" option within the Enterprise Manager OpsCenter Control (EMOC) browser based user interface. However, when you click Finish at the last step of the "Create vServer" sized no job vDC-Create-vServer job is created in EMOC and instead a pop-up dialog display the error "Unable to create job" is displayed as shown below:

Within the log file for the EMOC BUI (/var/opt/sun/xvm/logs/emoc.log) you are able to locate the following messages with a time stamp corresponding to the time you encountered the error in the browser:

 

Changes

 This situation is likely to occur only in a rack that has been expanded from any previous rack size (1/8, 1/4 or 1/2) to a full rack and an expansion from two to four NM2-GW switches present in the rack.
