Exalogic Virtual: Unable To Launch Virtual Console For Guest vServers From EMOC WhereAs Virtual Console Launch From OVMM Console Works To Guest vServers (Doc ID 2029564.1)

Symptoms

In Exalogic Virtual releases, issue of unable to launch virtual console on guest vServer from EMOC is observed. Clicking on the link "Launch Virtual Console"  from EMOC fails with no response. Launching a virtual console for the same vServer from the OVMM Browser User Interface (BUI) works.

Following are the symptoms observed at the time of the issue.

  1. the Blue "O" icon at the top right of the main browser window spins until a timeout is reported.
  2. the dialog box from the browser appears, requesting confirmation of the action to perform for a file "ovm_rasproxy-ws.jnlp" never appears
  3. no VNC session is established


To verify whether issue is similar to issue described in this Note, activate the "JavaScript console" by going to Settings -> More Tools -> JavaScript console; or CTRL+SHIFT+J.

We can see following failure in the Java console. To verify this specific Note applies check the console output and see if the URL used to retrieve ovm_rasproxy-ws.jnlp is a different and unexpected IP address.  If X.X.X.X:7002 is not the EoIB address that was used to get to the EMOC BUI then you are running into issue described in this Note.
