Last updated on DECEMBER 14, 2017

Applies to:

Oracle Data Integrator - Version 12.1.3.0.0 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

If a source table (on SQLServer) contains a column with name 'NUMBER' and target table is an Oracle table, 'Number' is a reserved word for Oracle. With ODI 11g both LKM and IKM are creating the staging table as:

create table (
C1_NUMBER
...

 While in ODI 12c it creates it as:

CREATE TABLE (
NUMBER
....
)

 Which generates the following error:

ODI-1228: Task Insert new rows-IKM SQL Control Append- fails on the target connection <oracle_conn_name>.
Caused By: java.sql.SQLSyntaxErrorException: ORA-01747: invalid user.table.column, table.column, or column specification
