Unable to Add a Datastore to the Target Panel of an Interface/Mapping in ODI Studio Designer (Doc ID 2031253.1)

Symptoms

When creating a new Interface in ODI 11.1.1.7.0 or a Mapping in ODI 12.1.3, after dragging in a Datastore from the Model into the target area, name and columns of the Datastore do not appear.

It shows target as

<Temporary Target Datastore> 

Position Indicators Name Mapping

and it freezes up ODI Studio. Due to this issue, you are unable to finish creating a new Interface or a Mapping.

The issue is confusing as View Data from the Datastore works fine.
