Information in this document applies to any platform.

Goal

When defining administrators and developers within the Application Builder, this APEX 5.0 feature allows the definition of authentication schemes. In Oracle Application Express 4.2, all users must be defined using Application Express User authentication. This feature allows instance administrators to define different authentication schemes such as Single Sign-On (SSO), LDAP, HTTP Header Variable,  and Database Accounts.

This note describes how to setup LDAP authentication for APEX Workspaces as described in the 3.2 Flexible Workspace Authentication reference.

This note assumes that you have already setup/configured your LDAP server and LDAP users.  It is important that you determine the mapping of the LDAP users to the corresponding APEX users before you start.  It  is particularly important that you determine an LDAP user, or users, who will have APEX Instance Administration privileges.
