Wlsifconfig.sh On FMW 12c On Linux 7.1 Kernel 3.10 Overwrites Network VIP[RDAY] (Doc ID 2036766.1)

Last updated on JUNE 12, 2024

Applies to:

Oracle WebLogic Server - Version 12.1.3.0.0 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

On Linux 7.1 kernel 3.10, the calling of the wlsifconfig.sh script by the node manager (when Automatic Server Migration Enabled) does NOT create a new VIP address as the next free eth0:? but actually overwrites the eth0:1.

In this case eth0:1 is the VIP Address of the Admin Server. This then causes the Admin Server to become unavailable.

This works fine on Linux 6.3 Kernel 2.6.
