Symptoms

In an existing instance of FMW 11.1.1.7.0 based components, the Fusion Middleware Control (also know as Enterprise Manager) is unable to connect to the Web Tier remote components.

In AdminServer-diagnostics.log you can find following type of exceptions:

A NEW FMW 11.1.1.9.0 Web Tier instance has been installed and registered into an existing FMW 11.1.1.7.0 Farm domain.
