Configuration Manager Applet Locking Web Browser and/or Locking Standalone Application When Performing Update (Doc ID 2040905.1)

Last updated on JUNE 12, 2023

Applies to:

Oracle WebCenter Content - Version 11.1.1.8.0 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

Recently updated WebCenter Content 11g Oracle database from 11.2.0.3.0 to 11.2.0.4.0.

In addition, applied Patch 17501296 to the database, to resolve an issue with metadata and search updates. See Note 1596005.1.

Since the database upgrade and patch application, have noticed that the Configuration Manager applet and Configuration manager StandAlone application, when attempting to Update an Information Field's values (such as Caption, field type, etc.), will hang and entirely lock the browser / application when clicking "ok" to apply the changes.

Similar behavior is not noticed when creating a new Information Field, or Deleting.

Upon subsequently logging back in, the changes have in fact been saved.

Similarly, when clicking to "Update Database Design" the browser / application locks.

This has been reproduced this error with multiple web browsers and Java JRE versions.

In environments which use database version 11.2.0.3, or environments which have been upgraded to 11.2.0.4, but not yet patched with Patch 17501296, do not experience this issue!
