After Login, a Blank Page is Shown with Browser Spinning; Unable to Access Sites UI and No Error found in Logs (Doc ID 2047365.1)

Symptoms

Unable to access Sites UI; after submitting credentials, the browser displays a blank screen and keeps on spinning and does not return anything.

Note: The "blank screen" here is not an actual blank screen. There is some javascript/html in the page source.

There are no errors in sites.log and/or cas.log, and user appears to be authenticated and authorized to access the UI/site (publication).

The browser's network tab shows the following request stays in the pending state for a long time and never returns a response:

Request URL: http://hostname:port/context/ContentServer?pagename=OpenMarket%2FXcelerate%2FActions%2FSecurity%2FProcessLoginRequest

 

If WebLogic is used, threads like the following might be reported STUCK in server .log/.out file:
