Goal

On : 12.1.3.0.0 version, OSB Installer

No group read permissions on some product files causes config.sh to fail

After installing OSB as one user you use config.sh to create a domain as a DIFFERENT user in the same group.

The installer leaves some files with no group read permission causing the domain creation to fail:

com.oracle.cie.domain.security.external.ConfigSecurityException: oracle.security.opss.tools.lifecycle.LifecycleException: oracle.security.jps.JpsException: File /oracle/middleware/oracle_common/modules/oracle.jps_12.1.3/domain_config/wls/system-jazn-data.xml cannot be found. Check if the specified file is expected in the specified location.

The files with bad permissions are as follows:

$ cd /oracle/middleware/
$ find . ! -perm -40 -exec ls -l {} \;
-rw------- 1 user group 7340 May 12 2014 ./oracle_common/modules/oracle.jps_12.1.3/domain_config/cwallet.sso
-rw------- 1 user group 265784 May 12 2014 ./oracle_common/modules/oracle.jps_12.1.3/domain_config/jse/system-jazn-data.xml
-rw------- 1 user group 265613 May 12 2014 ./oracle_common/modules/oracle.jps_12.1.3/domain_config/wls/system-jazn-data.xml
-rw------- 1 user group 536199 May 12 2014 ./oracle_common/modules/oracle.jps_12.1.3/domain_config/audit-store.xml
===== SNIP===== (15 files in total)

Using chmod to add group read permission fixes the problem
