Unable to Access Security Tab And Unable To Stop/Start Remote Instances Using DSCC

Information in this document applies to any platform.
Within DSCC, unable to browse to the security tab, or some of the log tabs for directory server instances on servers remote to the server running the Directory Service Control Centre (DSCC). Also unable to stop / start the remote instances via DSCC
DSCC returns the following error:
Error occurred searching the logs for the server. Unexpected error occurred connecting to serv5135. The error is java.lang.SecurityException: javax.security.sasl.SaslException: PLAIN: Authentication credentials verification failed! [Caused by javax.security.sasl.SaslException: Authentication failed].
