How To Clear AUD_JMS Records That Have Failed=2

Information in this document applies to any platform.
Users that have records in AUD_JMS that have failed 2 times which is blocking all future audits records for those users from being processed. Running the Issue Audit Messages Task scheduled task does not process any records for these users due to having a record with failed = 2 and is preventing having audit data for all users.
Is there a way to manually retry these original records other than updating the DB record to have failed < 2?
