Error "For server <server name>, the Node Manager associated with machine <machine name> is not reachable" When Attempting to Start a Managed Server in the WebLogic Administration Console (Doc ID 2054244.1)

Symptoms

When attempting to start a managed server within a P6 EPPM domain from the WebLogic administration console, the following error occurs:

For server <server name>, the Node Manager associated with machine <machine name> is not reachable.
All of the servers selected are currently in a state which is incompatible with this operation or are not associated with a running Node Manager or you are not authorized to perform the action requested. No action will be performed.

 

The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:

  1. Login to the domain's administration console (http://<server>:<port>/console).
  2. Navigate to the Environment > Servers > Control tab,
  3. Check the box next to the managed server name and select Start.
