Last updated on NOVEMBER 07, 2019

Applies to:

Oracle GoldenGate - Version and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Using Oracle GoldenGate to replicate from DB2 v9.7 to Oracle characters are not correctly translated when using CHARMAP.
The DB2 database was created using the Big5 character set and Oracle is using AL32UTF8.

For example, using 8141 -

Expected conversion result should be:
BIG5        UTF8
8141        E5B395

Goldengate converts the character as below Using default conversion instead of CHARMAP override -
BIG5         UTF8
8141         EEBAB9
