AF:TABLE Filter After Using Values IS NULL or IS NOT NULL Ignores Search Criteria (Doc ID 2066723.1)

Last updated on OCTOBER 24, 2022

Applies to:

Oracle JDeveloper - Version 12.1.3.0.0 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

You are trying to filter null values by using 'IS NULL' and not null value by using 'IS NOT NULL' in the filter area of an af:table column.
But after filtering using IS NULL or IS NOT NULL, if the value in the filter area is erased/removed and then ENTER applied, all the rows in
the table are not shown. That is,the result retains the old filtered rows instead of displaying rows for EMPTY filter criteria.
If any other criteria is used besides 'IS NULL' or 'IS NOT NULL'), the filter criteria works successfully.

Example :
There is an Employee table.
If "IS NULL" is applied in the filter area of the 'address' column, the rows retrieved correspond to all employees who do not have an
address in the table (null data).
After removing IS NULL from 'address' column and hitting ENTER, the result does not change.Expected result is all rows in Employee table.
