Goal
Sometimes an older version of the Java Plug-in remains in Internet Explorer (IE) after an upgrade or install when a PC is shared by users. This document explains how to remove the Plug-in from the Add-Ons manager for IE.
A new version of the Java Plug-in will not be installed if there is an existing version of the Java Plug-in present in a browser during an installation or upgrade.
Note:
- Microsoft's Announcement about IE11 go out of support.
- Starting Microsoft Edge version 77 or later, the user can configure the browser to run in IE mode thus enabling Java Plug-in to work.
