OBIEE 11g: Issues with Print to PDF, Export to Excel and Dashboard Prompts When Using Web Logic Server (WLS) Plug-In for IIS 7.5 (Doc ID 2073953.1)

Symptoms

Product combination: OBIEE 11.1.1.9.0 / WLS 10.3.6 / IIS 7.5 / WLS Proxy Plug-In 11.1.1.9.0

Various issues may be encountered when accessing OBIEE via the IIS 7.5 URL (for example: http://<IIS server>/analytics) only; these are not encountered when accessing OBIEE via the "direct" URL (for example: http://<OBIEE server>:9704/analytics).  These include:-

#1. Print to PDF for some Dashboards and Analyses results in a disconnection
      For example, on SampleAppLite > Dashboards > QuickStart > Sales Summary page ... Page Options > Print > Printable PDF
      See "This Page Can't Be Displayed" or "The connection was reset" error is thrown

#2. Export to Excel for some Dashboards and Analyses generates no output
      For example, on SampleAppLite > Dashboards > QuickStart > Sales Summary page ... Page Options > Export to Excel > Current Dashboard Page
      See the message that the Excel has completed ... but the Window with the prompt to Open / Save the XLSX file does not appear

#3. Applying a Dashboard Prompt will take a long time for results to display
      For example, on SampleAppLite > Dashboards > QuickStart > Sales Summary page ... Check the Year = 2008 dashboard prompt
      See it will take 3-5 minutes for the Dashboard to refresh with the new resultsets even though the Session Manager indicates that all reports executed and finished within seconds.
