Exalogic Virtual: ZFS Active Head Hang Causing Compute Nodes Auto Reboot (Doc ID 2077714.1)

Last updated on NOVEMBER 14, 2022

Applies to:

Oracle Exalogic Elastic Cloud Software - Version 2.0.6.0.0 to 2.0.6.2.0
Linux x86-64
Oracle Virtual Server x86-64
Applies to Exalogic versions running Pre-April 2015 PSU

Symptoms

In Exalogic 2.0.6.x Virtual racks running Virtual release older than April 2015 PSU 2.0.6.2.1, issue of ZFS Active storage head hang is observed. This causes compute nodes in virtual rack to reboot automatically due to OCFS2 fencing of compute nodes as there is no response from ZFS active head. When the hang on active head happens there is no automatic failover from Active head to Passive head.
