Mapping Lookup Type "SQL Expression In The SELECT Clause" Is Changed Into Default Lookup Type "All Rows" After Upgrade from ODI 11g to ODI 12c (Doc ID 2081126.1)

Last updated on JUNE 16, 2022

Applies to:

Oracle Data Integrator - Version 12.1.3.0.0 to 12.2.1.0.0 [Release 12c]
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

ODI 11g lookups can be configured with a property SQL expression in the SELECT. This causes the lookup to be performed within the select clause that fetches the data from the lookup table. This syntax may sometimes be more efficient for small lookup tables.

After upgrade of ODI 11g to ODI 12c, the lookup type SQL Expression In The SELECT is changed into a default Lookup Type All Rows. This causes generation of a regular source and a left-outer join expression to associate it with its driving table and may cause performance issues in case of big lookup tables.

Changes

The issue can occur after upgrade from ODI 11g to ODI 12.1.3 and ODI 12.2.1.
