CSDT Export To Eclipse Fails Due To "Error reading [assettype Y]:[id of asset of assettype X]" (Doc ID 2088120.1)

Symptoms

When trying to Sync WebCenter Sites asset to Eclipse via CSDT plugin, sites.log throws this error:
