Symptoms
On Windows platforms with Internet Explorer, the following Java SE releases can exhibit a significant applet start time increase, by about 20 seconds:
- Java SE 7 update 85 (CPU)
- Java SE 7 update 85 builds 31, 33 and 34 (BPRs)
- Java SE 7 update 91 (CPU)
- Java SE 7 update 91 build 32 (BPR)
- Java SE 8 update 60 (PSU)
- Java SE 8 update 60 builds 31 and 32 (BPRs)
- Java SE 8 update 65 (CPU)
- Java SE 8 update 66 (PSU)
- Java SE 8 update 66 build 31 (BPR)
This issue has been seen with applets, including Oracle Forms, where their web pages launch multiple applets, use "legacy_lifecycle=true", and/or use JavaScript.
