Symptoms

Installation / Configuration of Oracle Application Server 10.1.3  on Linux 64-bit is failing with

httpd: error while loading shared libraries:
libdb.so.2: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory


It has been noted the following similar but different error message may also be seen in the logs:

httpd: error while loading shared libraries:
libdb-4.3.so: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory
