12c BPM Tasks no longer open in a new window by double clicking on them

Symptoms
BPM Tasks in version 12c do not open in a new window (pop-up dialog) when using double click on a task row in BPM Workspace. In 11g you can open any task in pop-up window by double clicking on it.
Oracle BPM Workspace Documentation states the following:
"Figure 1-4 shows an example of a Task Details page. This page is invoked by selecting a task from the inbox on the Process Workspace Tasks page. You can also view it in a pop-up browser window by double-clicking the task..."
This behavior does take place in Oracle BPM Workspace 12.1.3.x or newer versions.
