Symptoms


Trying to establish a JDBC connection from Enterprise Manager (EM) host to database target host fails with error:

ERROR

Socket read timed out


STEPS
-----------------------
The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps with a standalone JDBC program:
1) Create the following java code to test the JDBC connection :

 
4) The following error is received:
Unable to get connection java.sql.SQLException: Socket read timed out
