Last updated on AUGUST 25, 2023

Applies to:

Oracle HTTP Server - Version 11.1.1.9.0 to 11.1.1.9.0 [Release Oracle11g]
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

When configuring OHS ssl.conf to only use TLS 1.2 and likewise IE browser client to only use TLS 1.2, the SSL connection is failing and "Page Cannot be Displayed" error is given by IE.

The ssl.conf shows:

SSLProtocol +TLSv1.2
or
SSLProtocol TLSv1.2

The OHS logs state the following:

If setting OHS to allow TLSv1, then it is working.

Changes

Recently upgraded to Oracle HTTP Server 11.1.1.9 where SSL was previously working and now have new standards to only use TLS 1.1 and 1.2, which is a new feature of OHS 11.1.1.9.
