ORA-00901 Multiple Interactive Reports On a Page With Control Break And Aggregation (Doc ID 2100849.1)

Last updated on FEBRUARY 01, 2016

Applies to:

Oracle Application Express (formerly HTML DB) - Version and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

There are two interactive reports on a page.
Each interactive report is based on a different table/view.

The first interactive report has a control break on fields that are not in the second interactive reports. This has been saved as the primary default report.
The second interactive report has an aggregation and has also been saved as the primary default report.

What does not work
When running the page the second interactive report region shows the following error:

ORA-00904 “nnnn” invalid identifier

Where nnnn is the field used for the control break on the 1st interactive report.

What works
When selecting:   Actions > Reset > Apply the error goes away, and the second interactive report
region data is displayed (as a partial page refresh has occurred).

When the page loads, the second region shows an ORA-904 "Column_Name": invalid identifier.
If you reload just that region by selecting the "Go" button, the region reloads.
