Applying Oracle Reports 12c Patches on Solaris SPARC Fails During the Relinking Process (Doc ID 2101080.1)

Oracle Reports Developer - Version 12.2.1.0.0 and later
Oracle Solaris on SPARC (64-bit)

Symptoms

 When applying a Reports 12c one-off patch via opatch command to Solaris SPARC platform the following errors are displayed:

Make failed to invoke "/usr/ccs/bin/make -f ins_reports.mk zrcsharedlib ORACLE_HOME=ORACLE_HOME"....'sh: line 1: ORACLE_HOME/reports/lib/rwgenshlib: not found
make: Fatal error: Command failed for target 'zrcsharedlib'

Make failed to invoke "/usr/ccs/bin/make -f ins_reports.mk rwssharedlib ORACLE_HOME=ORACLE_HOME"....'sh: line 1: ORACLE_HOME/reports/lib/rwgenshlib: not found
make: Fatal error: Command failed for target 'rwssharedlib'

Make failed to invoke "/usr/ccs/bin/make -f ins_browser.mk install ORACLE_HOME=ORACLE_HOME"....'ld: fatal: file ORACLE_HOME/../buildtools/lib/crti.o: open failed: No such file or directory
make: Fatal error: Command failed for target 'obe'

The following make actions have failed :

Re-link fails on target "zrcsharedlib".
Re-link fails on target "rwssharedlib".
Re-link fails on target "install".
