RIDC Connection Timeout Reported in Custom Portal Framework Application Connecting to WCC (Doc ID 2101734.1)

Custom WebCenter Portal Framework application is showing error/exception in the managed server (*.out) log that indicates an RIDC connection timeout:

oracle.webcenter.content.internal.http.InternalServerErrorException: Jan 20, 2016 10:47:45 AM oracle.webcenter.content.internal.http.HttpServiceExceptionFactory getException
ALL: Internal server error: {0}
Caused By: oracle.stellent.ridc.protocol.ProtocolException: Connection timed out
at oracle.stellent.ridc.protocol.intradoc.socket.SocketConnection.connect(

Netstat reveals that the IDC Server is up and running:

$ netstat -anp |grep 4444"
tcp 0 0* LISTEN 27227/java



Content Server connection created in WebCenter Portal Framework application to store/retrieve data.
