"File Does Not Exist" Errors for favicon.PNG in Web Server Logs. (Doc ID 2102583.1)

Information in this document applies to any platform.Symptoms

Within the Web Server log files (e.g. ohs1.log) there are numerous "File Does Not Exist" errors being reported against the file favicon. An example is as follows:

  • Although the above example is shown for the Oracle HTTP Server (OHS) log file, the same would be true if using ORDS deployed standalone or into a standalone J2EE Web Server (e.g. Tomcat, WebLogic Server, Glassfish).
  • On inspection of the log files you will see that these errors are emanating from when the APEX Application Builder is being used and not from a built APEX application being run.
  • Checking the reference to favicon.png file (e.g .../apex_ui/img/icons/favicon.png) you notice that the directory structure does not exist in the Oracle supplied <images> directory.



Changes

Installed or upgrade to APEX 5.0.x
