Symptoms

Secure Mail force closes multiple times on Android devices.  There is no warning or error message visible to users when this occurs.

The following error is seen in SecureMail logging.

 E/AndroidRuntime(27431): FATAL EXCEPTION: main
 E/AndroidRuntime(27431): Process: com.nitrodesk.honey.nitroid, PID: 27431
 E/AndroidRuntime(27431): java.lang.RuntimeException: Unable to create service
 com.nitrodesk.daemon.ActiveSyncListenerSvc: java.lang.NullPointerException:
 Attempt to invoke virtual method 'java.lang.Object
 com.nitrodesk.nitroid.MainApp.getSystemService(java.lang.String)' on a null
