Symptoms

Oracle Internet Directory (OID) 11g with Directory Integration Platform (DIP).

WebLogic Server, DIP and OID are all on same host and Middleware home.

Trying to save an DIP profile returns error:

Problem finding error class; nested exception is:
java.lang.ClassNotFoundException: Failed to load class oracle.ldap.odip.engine.ODIException

The DIP log wls_ods1-diagnostic.log shows:

Tried expressSyncSetup command line instead but it also fails:

Connection parameters initialized.
Connecting at <HOSTNAME>:<MANAGED_SERVER_PORT>, with userid "<user_id>"..
Connected successfully.

Cannot establish connection with Oracle Internet Directory server. Host: <HOSTNAME> Port: <OID_LDAP_NONSSL_PORT>
