How to Change or Hide The "Home Space" Link in The SpacesSwitcher (Doc ID 2106298.1)

Last updated on JULY 07, 2020

Applies to:

Oracle WebCenter Portal - Version 11.1.1.8.0 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Goal

You want to disable access to the home portal. To do so, you followed the instructions on this page:

Fusion Middleware User's Guide for Oracle WebCenter Portal: Spaces
48.13 Enabling and Disabling Access to the Home Portal
https://docs.oracle.com/middleware/11119/wcp/admin/wcadm_ps_global.htm#WCADM14640

That said, all of my roles have the permissions box for "Portal Server: View" unchecked. In the page template, you use the Spaces Switcher component () to provide a way for users to switch between portals. Here's what you see on that component when logged in as a normal (non-administrative) user:

Under the "Recent Portals" column (to the left), the component shows the following links: "Home Portal", "Browse Portals", and "Portal Builder".

Is there anything that can be done to remove the "Home Portal" and "Browse Portals".
