Reports 11gR2 and 12c on AIX Fail With REP-50125: An internal exception occurred: java.io.StreamCorruptedException: unexpected block data (Doc ID 2107158.1)

IBM AIX on POWER Systems (64-bit)

Symptoms

A new install of Reports 12c on AIX fails with the following error trying to execute any web command (getserverinfo/showjobs, etc)

REP-50125: An internal exception occurred: java.io.StreamCorruptedException: unexpected block data.

Using rwclient.sh to run a report shows the following errors

rwclient.sh server=[reports server name] report=[report] destype=file desname=/tmp/test.pdf desformat=pdf authid=user/password
REP-0177: An error occurred while running in a remote server.
An internal exception occurred: java.io.StreamCorruptedException: unexpected block data.

Reports server is up and running and can be confirmed via "rwdiag.sh -findAll"

rwrun.sh and rwbuilder.sh work fine without issue.

 

Same behavior has been found when using jdk7u95-b13 for WLS in 11gR2 (11.1.2.2).
