Global Trust Communication Failing Between WebLogic Domains Version 11g and 12c (Doc ID 2109249.1)

Symptoms

You have enabled Global Trust between 11g (10.3.6) and 12c (12.2.1) domains but you are getting the following exception while connecting from 12c domain to 11g domain 

This same error doesn't occur when Global Trust is enabled between two 11g domains

Steps to reproduce the issue:

1. Add the same credential for 11g and 12c domains

2. Log in to 12c Domain 1 as user1, make an RMI call to 11g domain so that user1 is still authenticated

3. Upon connecting, you see the above error
