Last updated on MARCH 01, 2023

Applies to:

Information in this document applies to any platform.

Goal

Is it possible create custom policies and assign them to custom role in OBIEE 12c, using EM or wlst?

This scenario: "create the custom roles within the OBIEE tool to restrict access to the projects/subject areas, features and capabilities with the OBIEE tool"

Couple of examples:
- Restrict a user to have job scheduling feature on a project(s) , but not on other project (s) using Custom Roles
- Restrict a user not to have ability to download on a project(s), but would be allowed to download other projects.
- Restrict a user to have access to only granted subject area and it's shared folder.
- Restrict a user to have read access on a shared folder, but should have write read access on the content and subfolders
