af:panelSplitter expands to full screen after the resize and dismissal of a modal pane

On JDeveloper 220.127.116.11.0 version, upon clicking on the Panel Splitter (af:panelSplitter) after a modal pane has been dismissed, the splitter is positioned at the left most end of the screen rather than at the right most end of the screen, for the first time.
An example use-case is:
After a page loading a popup window is shown, if user resizes the browser window, then presses the OK button for the popup and then tries to collapse the right side of the af:panelSplitter (second facet), at first it seems to collapse but then it expands to cover the entire page.
This behavior only occurs on first attempt and has been seen in browsers Chrome and Firefox, not with Internet Explorer (IE).
