(Doc ID 2117348.1)

Last updated on MARCH 22, 2016

Applies to:

Oracle JDeveloper - Version 11.1.2.4.0 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

In JDeveloper 11.1.2.4 an ADF application configured to use French language is using an <af:inputDate> tag. The default message for invalid format displays two single quotes instead of a single quote (l''exemple--> there are two quotes)

The attribute messageDetailConvertDate of af:convertDateTime was used instead but that did not change the behavior:

The problem is that the error shows this l"exemple instead of this l'exemple (one single quote):

Erreur. Le format de la date est incorrect.
Entre une date avec le meme format que l''exemple suivant: 1998-11-29

The problem can be reproduced using the provided sample application:

  1. Unzip SRMsgDateWithSingleQuote.zip
  2. Open the workspace in JDeveloper 11.1.2.4.0
  3. Run the web page
  4. Enter an incorrect date format in the text field and observe the error message being displayed with
