NullPointerException in BPM Workspace when refreshing the Inbox (Doc ID 2118153.1)

Symptoms

Getting a NullPointerException while performing the following actions in the BPM Workspace.

1) Log in to Workspace.
2) Click on Advanced Search. Try to search for a flex field (for example, a flex field of type number).
3) After the search is done, click back to My Tasks view and try refreshing the Inbox. You will get the following null pointer exception:
