Exalogic Virtual: How to manually update the credentials used by EM OpsCenter Control (EMOC) when accessing the storage heads in the ZFS Appliance (Doc ID 2118363.1)

Goal

NOTE: This solution applies only to Exalogic Releases 2.0.6.2.2 (July 2015 PSU) and below and should ***NOT*** be used with versions 2.0.6.2.3 (October 2015 PSU) and later.


You have an Exalogic system running Exalogic Elastic Cloud Software (EECS) as a virtual deployment and you would like to manually reset the passwords that the Enterprise Manager OpsCenter (EMOC) component is using to access storage heads to troubleshoot a suspected problem related to credentials, such as:

  1. You see "Auth Fail" errors such as the following in one of the cacao log files (/var/opt/sun/cacao2/instances/scn-proxy/logs/cacao.N) on the two vServers running the EMOC ProxyControllers (ExalogicControlOpsCenterPC1 and ExalogicControlOpsCenterPC2)

     

  2. You see a radio button "Clear blacklisting and continue using current credentials" after viewing the credential set for an "Asset" by clicking on the "Update Management Credentials" action for a selected object:
