Symptoms
After upgrading from Java SE 7 to Java SE 8, a customer faced “Out Of Memory : Metaspace”.
They noticed that there was a gradual increase in the number of loaded classes. Eventually they got the Out Of Memory error.
The expected behavior is that after the application starts and the required classes have been loaded, there should be very little increase in the MetaSpace.
Changes
Java : from a 1.7.0 version to 1.8.0_60
Jboss : from EAP 6.2 – 6.4
Plus there was an application framework change as well.
