Removing Of Xalan.jar Breaks Custom Code (Doc ID 2118862.1)

Goal

We have some code in our custom application that was using the xalan.jar located in the <Sites_Install>/Sun/jws/common/endorsed/ directory.  As per the Sites 11.1.1.8.0 Patch 12 update steps, this jar must be removed.  Would there be any problem leaving this jar in this location so that we can continue to use it for our custom purposes?
