Last updated on NOVEMBER 02, 2022

Applies to:

Oracle WebCenter Sites - Version 12.2.1.0.0 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Goal

Clustering WebCenter Sites Visitor Services (SVS for short) is similar to clustering Sites, but easier, however there is an addition requirement to reconfigure JMS to also be cluster safe.

Prerequisites for SVS:

1. Functional Sites installation or cluster (this document will be using the Load Balancer Address)

2. Functional CAS Installation or cluster cluster (this document will be using the Load Balancer Address)

3. A Load Balancer in the case of this doc the common OHS server wcsOHS created while installing a Sites cluster

4. A domain that contains the WebCenter Sites Visitors Services deployment, in this document the same domain as Sites. However, it could be a unique domain.

See How to Cluster WebCenter Sites 12.2.1.x.x? (Doc ID 2115388.1) for additional info.

This KM Note covers Horizontal Clustering of Visitors Services.

NOTE: While Vertical clustering is similar to horizontal clustering described in this document it is not suggested. If there is a situation where a vertical cluster is required to fully utilize a server than virtualization of said server leads to better results.
