Rwclient.bat Fails With REP-0177 When Windows Username Has Multiple Words
(Doc ID 2122820.1)
Last updated on FEBRUARY 25, 2019
Applies to:Oracle Reports Developer - Version 18.104.22.168.0 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.
You have installed FMW Forms/Reports 11gR2 on Windows platform as <USER NAME> Windows administrator user.
When running any report via rwclient.bat from DOS prompt as Windows user account that has more than one word (in this case, <USER NAME>), then it fails with error:
The parameter value is invalid: <NAME>
The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:
1. Login with a Windows user that has more than one word (<USER NAME>).
2. Open DOS prompt
3. echo %USERNAME%
4. cd %ORACLE_INSTANCE%\config\reports\bin
5. Run any report:
It appears that any space in USERNAME environment variable value somehow gets parsed in the rwclient.bat command.
This happens regardless if user has Administrator privileges or not.
This does NOT reproduce with:
- other commands like rwrun.bat, rwconverter.bat and rwbuilder.bat.
- Windows users with one word name, like "Administrator" or "<USER>
New FMW Reports/Forms 11gR2 installation.
