How to Setup EUS with OID and AD Where Users Are Synchronized to OID Except the Password (userpassword), Authentication Happens Against AD and Authorization in OID? (Doc ID 2127644.1)

Last updated on FEBRUARY 15, 2019

Applies to:

Advanced Networking Option - Version 12.1.0.1 and later
Oracle Internet Directory - Version 11.1.1 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Goal

Setting Enterprise User Security (EUS) with Oracle Internet Directory (OID) 11g and Microsoft (MS) Active Directory (AD), including:
EBS version - 12.1.3
Database version - 11.2.0.3
OID version - 11g

Microsoft AD stores all the users information which will be synchronized to OID, but the challenge is that user passwords can Not be stored in the OID due to internal security guidelines. The password validation should happen only in AD.

The password authentication needs to happen on AD and authorization on OID, so DIP sync will not have password attribute, nor Oracle Password Filter can be used.

How to achieve this?
