Oracle ESSO Extension For Firefox Is Enabled But Is Not Working (Doc ID 2132008.1)

Last updated on MARCH 01, 2023

Applies to:

Oracle Enterprise Single Sign-On Suite Plus - Version 11.1.2.3.0 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

The Oracle ESSO Logon Manager extension for Firefox is enabled, but is not working. Logon Manager reacts and responds to all of the pre-configured applications correctly when using Internet Explorer 11. However, nothing happens in Firefox. The Oracle ESSO extension is present and enabled as appears in the Firefox Addon Manager.

After installing Firefox, the Oracle ESSO extension would be automatically disabled, since it is not a signed extension.

The customer has attempted to manually disable the extension signature validation function in Firefox, like so:
1. In Firefox, navigate to => about:config
2. Click the "I'll be careful, I Promise!" button
3. Change the xpinstall.signatures.required value to false
4. Restart Firefox
5. Go to the Extensions section and observe that the Oracle ESSO extension will be enabled

However, still Logon Manager would not respond to any predefined applications in Firefox.
