EXALOGS: Collection Of Logs From EC1 vServer Fails Due to the Error: No Space On Filesystem (Doc ID 2139060.1)

Symptoms

You are running the exalogs component distributed within Exalogic Lifecycle Tools (ELLC) and are experiencing an unexpected failure from exalogs while collecting logs against the Exalogic Control (EC1) component.

You have checked free space on the root file system for the Exalogic Control vServer and confirm that there was plenty of free disk space (~6Gb) before invoking the exalogs collection. However, the exalogs collection completes with errors and the collection of files from the Exalogic Control will be empty with log messages similar to the following in the exalogs.sh.user log file at the top level of the exalogs archive:

You may have previously been able to collect exalogs successfully from this environment only to find the issue materialize after you have been running the system for some time.
