(Doc ID 2139293.1)
Last updated on MARCH 12, 2021
Applies to:
Oracle Exalogic Elastic Cloud Software - Version 2.0.6.2.3 to 2.0.6.2.160419Linux x86-64
Oracle Virtual Server (x86-64)
Symptoms
In Exalogic Virtual some rare cases, the NM2-GW IB Switch SSD life expectancy is dropping faster than other Switches.
By monitoring the 'showdisk' command found in recent firmware 2.1.x releases, it is found some switches losing the SSD life at a rate over 10% a month. Whereas, it had been expected that this rate would be much less than 1% a month in normal usage.
For example, following is the value drop of 'Estimated Remaining Life' (from the output of #showdisk) collected on four NM2 GW Switches in Exalogic Full Rack (virtual) on March 01 and April 04 (almost one month interval):
NM2-GW Switch | March 01 | April 04 | Difference |
el01gw01 | 97,089% | 95,452% | 1,637% |
el01gw02 | 62,503% | 43,746% | 18,757% |
el01gw03 | 99,375% | 96,654% | 2,721% |
el01gw04 | 45,294% | 41,331% | 3,963% |
The IB Switch SSD Life Expectancy can be seen with the 'showdisk' command as follows:
