Rollback of Exalogic Patch Set Update (PSU) for Linux on Bare Metal (Physical Configuration) (Doc ID 2142240.1)

Last updated on NOVEMBER 14, 2022

Applies to:

Oracle Exalogic Elastic Cloud Software - Version 2.0.0.0.0 and later
Linux x86-64

Purpose

This document describes how to rollback the updates performed by an Exalogic Patch Set Update (PSU) on Exalogic X2-2, X3-2, X4-2 and X5-2 racks running Exalogic Elastic Cloud Software (EECS) 2.0.x with Linux on bare metal (physical configuration).

The rollback described in this document involves a lengthy manual procedure. Note that the rollback is disruptive and can take 1 - 3 days, depending on the size of the Exalogic rack. For these reasons, we recommend moving forward by implementing fixes or workarounds for critical issues in the upgraded environment. That is, rollback should be considered only as a last resort after exhausting all other options.
