Oracle Unified Directory 11G Update Does Not Replicate When Delete and Subsequent Add of Custom Attribute is Made Within the Same Ldapmodify Command (Doc ID 2149275.1)

Last updated on FEBRUARY 16, 2019

Applies to:

Oracle Unified Directory - Version and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Perform a delete and subsequent add of a custom attribute within the same ldapmodify command (note that this is the same type of operation that the ODIP product performs). For example...

# ./ldapmodify -D "cn=directory manager" -w <PASSWORD>
dn: uid=ckent,ou=Special Users,dc=example,dc=com
changetype: modify
delete: customAttribute
add: customAttribute
customAttribute: testing123

modifying entry uid=ckent,ou=Special Users,dc=example,dc=com

Such an update to a custom attribute will succeed on the OUD DS instance to which the ldapmodify is directed, but the update will not be replicated to any other DS instances in the replication topology.
