JDeveloper Export To Excel Fails In IE Browser If Current Row is Changed (Doc ID 2150313.1)

Last updated on DECEMBER 23, 2016

Applies to:

Oracle JDeveloper - Version and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

An ADF application using an af:exportCollectionActionListener to export data to Excel shows error "Unable to read file ".
This happens only when using IE browser (version 10 and 11) with the application and the registry key "ExtensionHardening" set to "1".

Furthermore the issue only occurs if the current row on the application page is changed, while Excel still shows the question alert:

If the current row is changed when the alert in Excel is shown and the "Yes" button is clicked, the error "Unable to read file" will be shown and the file is not opened.

Installed <patch 20456424> to JDeveloper
Ensured that "HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Policies\Microsoft\Office\14.0\excel\Security\extensionhardening" registry key value is set to 1.
Accessed application using IE 11 + MS Office Excel 2007 or 2010.
